Sumona is an exceptional English teacher, and her support played an important part in my son securing places at Latymer Upper and Colchester Royal Grammar School for 2026 entry. My son was also attending a large, well-known 11+ coaching centre in Harrow, but it became clear that he needed more individual help with English. That is where Sumona made the difference. When he started with her, he was below average in English at his independent primary school. Within one term he was above average; within two, he was among the strongest in creative writing.
My son used to hate writing and basically lacked confidence in his ability to write creatively. She gives detailed feedback with alternate techniques for improving writing and comprehension. My son has become much more confident and enjoys the language.
Sumona has supported both our children through their comprehension and creative writing abilities — and both have flourished under her tutelage. There was a marked improvement in their creative writing, including detailed scene descriptions which make all the difference to good writing.
