Experience teaching GCSE English in British secondary schools brought a detailed understanding of curriculum, assessment and the progression in English that extends well beyond the 11+.
For the past 12 years, my focus has been selective-school English — understanding not simply the formats of different examinations, but the level of reading, vocabulary, comprehension and written expression they demand.
30+ years of experience means knowing when a child needs explanation, when they need practice — and when they simply need to be pushed further.”
